Channels
How in-app, email, SMS, and push are accepted and delivered.
Boson’s worker keeps a registry of channel handlers. An event names a channel; the worker looks up that handler and runs it.
In-app
Live today. The handler stores the notification for the inbox and publishes so connected WebSocket clients receive it.
Accepted by the API. Sends when an email provider is configured for the environment and the subscriber has an address (on the event or on file).
SMS
Accepted by the API. Sends when Twilio credentials are configured and a phone number is available.
Push
Accepted by the API. Sends when Firebase Cloud Messaging is configured and a push token is available.
Until a provider is attached, non-in-app channels are still valid API input - they do not deliver to an end user.
